Background
The World Health Organization’s Division of Pacific Technical Support (WHO-DPS) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Monitoring and Evaluation and Data Analyst TB Officer, in Fiji. The successful applicant will be assigned to the Twomey Hospital in Tamavua, Fiji, and will provide technical and administrative support to activities related to the monitoring and evaluation of ongoing and upcoming TB control programs and projects, including related with TB-HIV.
Job Description
The incumbent will work under the direction supervision of the National TB Control Officer (NTBCO), and the Technical Officer – HIV, Hepatitis, STIs - Pacific Health Security and Communicable Diseases (PSC), WHO-DPS. Key responsibilities include:
- Support the implementation of data collection methods, verify data, and improve understanding of cross-cutting issues and linkages to enable management to access timely, relevant, and reliable information on progress and results;
- Provide key inputs on a quarterly and annual basis, including annual reports, annual work plans, monitoring reports, and evaluative assessments;
- Perform data entry and quality assurance in relevant information management systems and databases;
- Work with the National TB Control Officer to ensure that systems are in place for assessments and reporting on the coherence and coordination of programme activities;
- Develop tools and templates to support the implementation of programmatic activities;
- Collaborate with stakeholders and partner organizations to support the collection, management, and communication of qualitative and quantitative data related to the implementation of activities for quality reporting;
- Manage designated data collection and verification activities, including providing updates to the Medical Superintendent, Tamavua Twomey Hospital, and the National TB Control Officer (NTBCO);
- Collect, consolidate, and analyse data, including contributions to the Global TB Report, and summarise activity reports for planning and progress reporting;
- Assist the National TB Control Officer in reviewing and providing feedback to divisional team members and other implementing agencies on work plan implementation, results achieved, utilization of grant funds, and alignment of expenditures with work plan activities;
- Assist in ensuring full implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans;
- The incumbent will perform other duties as assigned by NTBCO; and the WHO Representative.
Educational and experience requirements:
Education
Essential: A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Public Health, health sciences, Project Management or a related field.
Desirable: Advanced degree (Master’s) in Statistics, Public Health, health sciences, Project Management or a related field.
Experience
Essential:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, data management and analysis, or a similar role in public health or a related project.
- Proficiency in data management software (Excel) or statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, STATA).
Desirable:
Demonstrated track record in developing M&E frameworks, reports, and presentations for stakeholders; previous work experience within a TB program or similar public health initiative.
Technical skills and knowledge
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and understandable manner;
- Proficiency in preparing technical reports and delivering presentations for diverse audiences, including government officials, donors, and partners;
- Ability to develop and implement training programs to build capacity in data collection and M&E;
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines effectively.

Details of the proposed position:
- Salary for this role will start from FJD 32,999.24 to FJD 53,034.50, based on qualifications and experience.
- Duration of contract: 7 months initially, with potential extension.
- This role is subject to local recruitment and will be filled by Fiji nationals recruited in the local commuting area of the duty station.
