UN General Service Positions — G Grades

General Service positions (G-1 to G-7) are locally recruited at each UN duty station, covering secretarial, administrative, technical support and security services. Salaries are paid in local currency and set per duty station — a GS-5 in Geneva is on a completely different scale from a GS-5 in Nairobi. No international recruitment takes place for GS posts; applicants must usually be eligible to work in the duty station country.
