KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Trainer will be based in Kampala, Uganda and prepare and deliver training sessions in the identified countries. The responsibilities will include coordinating with relevant stakeholders on training preparation, training delivery online and face-to-face. 

Under the general supervision of the Training Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for carrying out the following tasks:

  • Conduct scoping missions in selected countries and identify needs and gaps across Global Fleet workforce and operations.
  • Advise stakeholders in selected countries in designing and executing capacity strengthening activities for TTC training topics
  • Prepare and deliver training on fleet management, workshop management, driver training and overall HGV/LV maintenance (preventive maintenance, diagnostic procedure..)
  • Contribute to the development of training content closely with relevant stakeholders and support the implementation of activities
  • Provide continuous coaching and technical advice to stakeholders to enable successful implementation of capacity strengthening activities
  • Prepare reports timely on the delivery and impact of the training and related activities.

EDUCATION:

  • Completion of University Degree in Mechanical, Automobile or Electrical/Electronical Engineering or in related functional area.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in training;
  • Demonstrated excellence in capacity strengthening initiatives;
  • Experience in Fleet management, Supply Chain.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • International experience in the field of fleet management;
  • Experience in managing fleets and workshops;
  • Strong knowledge of Fleet Management Systems;
  • Knowledge of transport tracking system;
  • Good understanding of end-to-end supply chains;
  • Proficiency in MS Office in particular of MS Excel;  
  • Data driven and able to interpret data quickly, and to recommend improvements;
  • Able to work in a team environment and in client facing roles;
  • Result oriented and capable of working under time pressure;
  • Fully committed to the objectives, mandate and code of ethics of the WFP.

LANGUAGES:

  • Working knowledge (proficiency/Level C) of English and French (proficiency/Level B) is required.
