Education:

  • Advanced university degree in Agricultural Economics, Food Systems, Agribusiness, Development Studies, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field.

Experience:

  • At least 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in:  value chain development, agribusiness or market systems development, food systems strengthening, market analysis and assessments (VCA, MDA).
  • Partnership building with private sector and governments.
  • Experience linking institutional demand (e.g. social protection, school feeding, public procurement) with local agricultural markets is a strong asset. 
  • Experience working in Latin America or similar middle-income contexts is an asset.
  • Experience in UN, international NGOs, or development agencies is desirable.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Technical expertise on food systems, market development, rural development, climate resilience, climate change adaptation and resilience principles.
  • Strong understanding of climate smart agriculture, regenerative agriculture, agrifoods business development.
  • Strong communication, coordination, facilitation, and report writing skills.

Languages

  • Proficiency/level C of Spanish and English is required.
