Result of Service

By the end of the assignment, the consultant will have (1) strengthened the delivery and coordination of initiatives through effective project management, structured analysis and stakeholder engagement; (2) produced analytical products that support leadership decision-making; (3) improved internal processes, tools and workflows that enhance operational efficiency and information management; and (4) contributed to a more coherent and predictable implementation environment for priority initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Project Management and Coordination: Support planning, scheduling and implementation of initiatives, including maintaining workplans, tracking milestones and preparing progress updates. Coordinate with counterparts across the UN system to ensure timely information flow and alignment of activities. Prepare briefing and meeting materials and talking points for senior leadership. 2. Analytical and Research Support: Conduct structured qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform decision-making on strategic initiatives. Synthesize complex information into clear insights, recommendations and concise materials. Draft high-quality presentations and analytical products. 3. Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and propose improvements to streamline workflows, strengthen coordination and enhance delivery of priority initiatives. Support development of project management tools that improve information accessibility and operational efficiency. 4. Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate inputs from UN entities involved in system-wide initiatives, follow up on actions and document decisions and next steps. Support preparation and facilitation of workshops, consultations and internal working sessions.

Qualifications/special skills

At least a first-level degree in management, economics, public policy, international affairs, social science, or other related areas. 3-7 years of experience in project or programme management, process improvement, organizational strategy, or similar is required. Stakeholder engagement skills, including experience facilitating cross-organizational collaboration, are required. Experience with Microsoft 365 tools (e.g. Excel, SharePoint, Teams) is required. Experience working in professional services or consulting environment is desirable. Experience designing and implementing organization-wide change management initiatives is desirable. Experience preparing high-quality presentation materials (e.g. PowerPoint, ThinkCell) is desirable. Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI or similar) is desirable.

Languages

Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
