Result of Service
The consultant will provide expert advisory input to the Evaluation Team on identifying relevant external data sources in peacekeeping contexts that are not currently used by peacekeeping operations, with a view to complementing existing CPAS data and strengthening impact-oriented analysis. This will include strategic guidance on the conceptual design of a database of external data sources, including categorization and usability considerations, as well as advice on access modalities, stakeholder mapping for data-sharing, and approaches for integrating external datasets with CPAS analytical frameworks. The consultant will also provide high-level recommendations on identifying additional relevant sources to enhance understanding of regional and conflict dynamics, resulting in improved strategic awareness of available data, potential collaboration partners, and analytical depth for CPAS-related work.

Duties and Responsibilities
The temporary job opening is from 11 May to 30 June 2026. The consultant will be home-based. The consultancy position is located in the Evaluation Team within the Policy, Evaluation and Training Division (DPET) of the Department of Peace Operations (DPO). The consultant is under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Evaluation Team.
Qualifications/special skills
An advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent degree) in data analysis, information management, computer science, political science, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree A minimum of five years of established expertise in computer science, data analysis, or information management is required. A minimum of two years’ experience in conflict-setting data analysis and is required. Experience with Microsoft Power Apps is strongly desirable. Experience with Power Automate and Power BI is desirable. Experience working in international organizations is desirable.
Languages
For the consultancy position advertised, fluency in English is required.
