Result of Service

The consultant will provide expert guidance and advice to the Evaluation Team in applying AI-driven development methods to design and deliver enhanced Power Apps solutions and user interfaces for the Evaluation Team. AI will be used to support tasks such as generating interface components, optimizing workflows, improving accessibility compliance, documenting features, and accelerating low‑code development processes. The consultant will also prepare documentation, conduct training, and provide recommendations for long‑term sustainability of tools and design standards. The end result will be user‑friendly, scalable applications built more efficiently through the strategic use of AI‑assisted development tools.

Duties and Responsibilities

The temporary job opening is from 01 May to 30 June 2026. The consultant will be home- based. The consultancy position is located in the Evaluation Team within the Policy, Evaluation and Training Division (DPET) of the Department of Peace Operations (DPO). The consultant is under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Evaluation Team.

Qualifications/special skills

An advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent degree) in artificial intelligence, computer science, software development, UI/UX design, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of five years of established expertise in software/application development, computer science, data analysis, or digital innovation is required. A minimum of two years experience in programming or software development using AI is required. Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, generative AI for code, AI-driven UI exploration) is required. Experience with Microsoft Power Apps is strongly desirable. Experience with Power Automate and Power BI is desirable as well. Experience working in international organizations is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required.
