The Position:Programme associate GBViE (G6)
The Programme Associate, Gender Based Violence in Emergencies (GBViE) position is located in the Country Office of UNFPA in Juba and works primarily with the GBV Sub-Cluster Coordinator and the Emergency Coordinator in achieving the overall work of the Humanitarian Response Unit.
Programme Associate, GBViE supports the design, planning and management of UNFPA’s country programme by providing and managing data inputs, providing logistical support, monitoring project implementation and following up on various tasks and support services in the Humanitarian Response Unit. The Programme Associate applies established systems and procedures and assists in the creation of substantive knowledge by compiling, synthesizing and analyzing information relevant to population and development, reproductive health and gender issues. S/he supports and manages the Humanitarian Response Units’ relations with government IPs. S/he is instrumental in facilitating programme/ project implementation using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures in support of the country office.
This Programme Associate role reports to the Emergency Coordinator and maintains collaborative relationships with all programme and project staff at the as well as administrative and operations team of the CO.

Job Purpose:
The Programme Associate works in close collaboration with other Programme and Project staff to exchange information and ensure consistent technical delivery of the work of the Humanitarian Response Unit. The Programme Associate provides programme support to the GBV Sub-Cluster and Emergency Coordinators in their work, including technical support the overall work of the Humanitarian Response team in the country. The Programme Associate also works in close collaboration with partners and stakeholders to ensure effective support to the unit and IPs working in the area of Humanitarian Response.
Under the supervision and guidance of the Programme Coordinator for Humanitarian Response, the Programme Associate works in close collaboration with a range of staff, external partners and counterparts in support of administrative programme design and delivery. Incumbent provides regular feedback on the status of projects through monitoring milestones and advises on improvements to keep activities on track. The Programme Associate leads efforts in providing programme, administrative and financial support to the programme and technical team, including data and research to support the overall work of the Humanitarian Response team in the country. The Programme Associate also works in close collaboration with the Administrative and Finance team members to ensure effective support to the Humanitarian Response unit.
