The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe is the world's largest regional security organization, with 57 participating states across Europe, Central Asia and North America. OSCE employs security specialists, human rights officers, democratization experts, election monitors, police advisors, media freedom specialists and rule-of-law experts. The organization operates field missions in conflict-affected areas including Ukraine, the Western Balkans and Central Asia. OSCE uses a unique mix of contracted (international civilian) and seconded (government-nominated) staff — creating two distinct career tracks. Field deployments are often intensive and may be located in challenging environments.
