JOB PURPOSE:
Under the overall supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer the Field Monitoring Assistant (FMA) performs monitoring activities within the field, sub or area office and provide reports that support the effective delivery of WFP’s assistance packages.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
Conduct field monitoring activities to verify the planned movements and distribution of food and non-food items, report issues, incidents and risks
Conduct the required food basket monitoring to ensure that the quantity of assistance distributed, and the quality of WFP’s operation are in line with established WFP standards.
Maintain up-to-date monitoring information records and documentation, to assist with achieving the effective delivery and distribution of WFP food and non-food items.
Actively participate in the development of Sub Office (SO) M&E plans
Contribute to the achievement of expected results and meeting WFP’s Minimum Monitoring Requirements (MMR).
Collate WFP assistance data in accordance with clear direction, to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
Liaise with cooperating partners and internal counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services.
Actively contribute to the regular reviews and updates of M&E tools in collaboration sub-office M&E officer.
Support the collation of all issue escalation, management and resolution processes at in close collaboration with the SO M&E officer for ensuring efficient operations.
Support capacity building initiatives for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods.
Prepare field mission reports to document programme implementation.
Follow set emergency response processes and procedures for emergency food assistance.
Perform any other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Completion of secondary school education or A diploma or post-graduate certificate in any of the following disciplines: statistics, economics, international affairs, business administration, social sciences, and development.
Experience:
Four or more years of progressively responsible work experience in analyzing programme output and outcome data and reporting.
General knowledge of monitoring and evaluation systems is desirable
Knowledge & Skills:
• Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word.
• Knowledge of work routines and methods in order to complete processes under minimal supervision.
Language: Fluency in English and Afarigna.
