The national consultant has to support the conduct of trainings for the members of the multidisciplinary teams and empowering women and girls with disabilities in the efforts of combating GBV and enhancing the capacities of relevant stakeholder on how to support women and girls with disabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the present Terms of Reference and guided by the international standards on human rights and rights of persons with disabilities, under the overall guidance of the Head of UN Human Rights and under the supervision of a Human Rights Officer and in strong cooperation with consultant on mainstreaming disability inclusion in the GBV response and other GBV consultant, the incumbent will undertake the following tasks, organized per following outcomes of the project: Outcome 2 The capacities of the national system to prevent and protect women and girls with disabilities from violence are enhanced through improved accessibility of services and strengthened institutional response. 1. Conduct 3 trainings for the members of multidisciplinary teams from Causeni district on “Multidisciplinary approach of violence against women and domestic violence” with strong focus on supporting women with disabilities. Outcome 3 Women and girls with disabilities on both banks of Dniester/Nistru River have strengthened their awareness, capacity and participation in combating GBV. 2. Support in empowerment of a network of 40 women with disabilities, including refugees and community leaders in the area of GBV, prevention and combating of violence against women with disabilities and domestic violence and in becoming community educators/ambassadors among their peers with disabilities. 3. Support the 40 women with disabilities, including refugees and community leaders from both banks of Dniester/Nistru River to conduct awareness raising on prevention and combating of GBV for up to 1000 peers. 4. Support in development of awareness raising materials on prevention, identification, and combating violence against women and domestic violence accessible for women and girls with disabilities.
Qualifications/special skills
First degree in human rights, education, social work, psychology, international relations, or other relevant fields. • At least 3 years of experience in prevention and combating gender based violence against women with disabilities. • Proven expertise in the field of empowering women to fight against gender-based violence and domestic violence. • Experience working with the National Agency for Prevention and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence and in social services providers is considered an asset. • Strong skills in designing and delivering effective training sessions. • Knowledge of area of disability inclusion and human rights of persons with disabilities is an asset.
Languages
Fluency in Romanian. Working knowledge of Russian and English is an asset.
