Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities This internship will be with the Humanitarian Leadership Section (HLS), Learning Team. The intern will report to the Learning Team, Humanitarian Leadership Section. This internship is located in Geneva, Switzerland. It can be either full time or part time, either in-person/remote, and/or if needed, hybrid only. Daily responsibilities will depend on the intern’s background and ongoing projects but may include, among others: Learning Design and Delivery • Supporting the design, development, and delivery of learning products, courses, workshops and leadership-strengthening initiatives. • Assisting in the development of digital and blended learning solutions. • Assists in the organization of meetings, seminars, conferences, workshops, webinars, etc. to facilitate learning. Learning Data Management and Analysis, Monitoring and evaluation • Supporting data collection, analysis and visualization related to learning activities. • Assisting with monitoring & evaluation, KPI reporting and maintenance of learning records and systems. • Supporting with setting up, updating and maintaining internal training data tracker systems Support to Innovative and on-the-job Learning Approaches • Supporting the implementation of mentoring arrangements, staff exchanges, shadowing arrangements, and other innovative and on-the-job learning methodologies within OCHA. • Assisting with online leadership development programmes and communities. Communications and Knowledge Management • Supporting communication efforts for the Learning Team, including OCHA Hub content, newsletters, and internal updates. • Contributing to knowledge management initiatives and supporting the coordination and facilitation of communities of practice. General Support • Preparing materials, meeting notes, agendas, and background documents. • Supporting inquiries and requests related to HLS learning activities. • Performing other tasks as required.
Qualifications/special skills
(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed within one year of start of internship, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent) is required. Experience with AI tools and technologies is required: please describe your experience working with AI tools or technologies for learning. Include specific examples of projects, platforms, or tools you've used, and your role in these initiatives.
Languages
English and French are the official working languages of the United Nations. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable. Additional UN languages are an asset.
