The consultant will contribute to the following deliverables: Programme Communications and Knowledge Management, in particular during this period for ICS programme: • Dashboards and fact sheets. • Updates on website, blogs and videos. • Reports and other knowledge products. • Side-events or sessions in events, exhibitions • Management of short-term experts/consultants for Comms specific products General CTCN Knowledge Management and Communications: • Content for CTCN Website and web stories for CTCN gender and climate change mitigation activities. • Regional NDE Fora including media, visual assets, messaging and webpages. • Content for use in CTCN case studies, reports, presentations and promotional materials. • Draft speeches, press releases for events and articles in select magazines • Side events, exhibition, trainings – including communications and media coverage.

Duties and Responsibilities
This position is located within Climate Change Division, Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) Secretariat based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: A - Support the EC ICS Programme on communications and knowledge management: 1. Support the development and updating of the ICS Programme dashboards. 2. Coordinate the delivery and dissemination of the ICS Programme project and technology fact sheets. 3. Coordinate the delivery and dissemination of blogs and videos on CTCN technical assistance delivered under the EC ICS programme. 4. Draft content for CTCN website and stories on CTCN’s EC ICS activities. 5. Provide input on EC ICS Programme for the CTCN newsletter. 6. Contribute to the delivery of EC ICS Programme reports and other knowledge products. 7. Coordinate the delivery of CTCN’s EC ICS Programme related workshops, side-events or sessions, exhibition. B – Support CTCN Knowledge Management and Communications: • Act as the primary CTCN focal point for UNEP’s Climate Change communications team. • Support the delivery and dissemination of CTCN reports and other knowledge products. • Draft content for CTCN website and web stories, notably on CTCN’s gender and climate change mitigation activities and provide inputs on the same for CTCN newsletter and social media. • Draft content of press releases and magazine articles on CTCN activities, as needed. • Support analysis and synthesis of communications outputs across CTCN programmes and come up with appropriate content for communication products under various platforms run by the CTCN. • In collaboration with CTCN Governance and Communications Specialist: o Support the gathering information, conducting interviews, and composing draft content for use in CTCN case studies, reports, presentations and promotional materials. o Support the delivery of CTCN communications materials (videos, photography). o Coordinate with CTCN team and support planning and organizing of CTCN events and support communications, creating webpages, creating messaging and visual assets and interact with media (eg for regional NDE fora, training, side-events, exhibitions). o Assist in communications-related to collaboration with host institutions and new/key partners, including communications and media coverage. C - Performs other tasks as may be requested by the Director of the CTCN.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree (Masters’ degree or equivalent) in communications, international and/or public relations or related field. A minimum of 10 years practical experience in the fields of communications, outreach in social media/web content, articles, outreach materials, event planning and media relations for climate change and environmental issues. Experience in global communications and working for a UN or multilateral organization. Understanding and experience with UNFCCC activities is an asset. Ability to plan, prioritize and deliver tasks effectively and on time. Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills and respect for a multicultural workplace. Ability to synthesize information in a clear and well-structured manner. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
