The UNV Regional Offices (RO) provide oversight and strategic guidance to the UNV Field Units in their respective geographical assignments and are mainly accountable for the placement of UN Volunteers mobilized for UN Agencies, Funds, and Programmes focused on peace, development, and humanitarian needs. Furthermore, the Regional Offices represent, and strategically position, UNV and bring UNV’s services and solutions closer to its partners from governments, UN entities, civil society, and private sector. The Regional Offices also lead in scoping and delivering UNV’s advisory service offer on volunteer infrastructure.

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Manager, and the technical guidance of the Communications Analyst, Outreach, the Communications Analyst in a Regional Office implements the corporate communications strategy, as well as provides inputs to the design, management and implementation of the Regional Office communications and publication strategies, which are geared to influence the volunteering agenda, promote public and media outreach.

The Communications Analyst may supervise and lead the communications personnel of the regional office and field units. The Communications Analyst works in close collaboration with respective UNV sections, staff of other UN Agencies, UNV Communications HQ personnel, partners, international and local media, subject matter experts, donors, and civil society to ensure successful implementation of UNV’s communication strategy in the Regional Office.
