Organizational Setting

The internship is located in the Quality Management and Performance Monitoring Section (QMPM), Office of the Executive Secretary (OES).

Reporting Lines

Under the supervision of the Chief, Quality Management and Performance Monitoring Section (QMPM), to: 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the collection, organization, and preliminary analysis of performance monitoring data, including preparation of charts, dashboards, and summary tables to support evidence-based decision-making;
  2. Provide support in maintaining and updating the current QMS, in line with applicable standards and internal procedures;
  3. Support efforts to strengthen the link between performance monitoring and communication by assisting in translating monitoring results into clear, audience-appropriate messages (e.g., internal briefings, dashboards, summaries for senior management, and materials for States Signatories);
  4. Support the preparation, implementation, and analysis of evaluation activities by conducting background research, assisting with data collection, and contributing to the drafting of evaluation deliverables;
  5. Assist with performance monitoring and evaluation functions, as required;
  6. Support the development and enhancement of the PTS Orientation Programme for newcomers, including drafting content, structuring materials, and coordinating inputs from relevant Sections;
  7. Assist in organizing workshops and meetings related to QMPM activities;
  8. Assist and support the organization of any other QMPM-related activity.

Education

  • Candidates for an internship must be at least 18 years of age and no more than 35 years of age;
  • The applicant must have completed at least two (2) years of full-time study to be awarded a degree with a major in Quality Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Data Science, Project Management, Economics, International Relations, or other relevant fields;
  • Applications may be accepted for up to two (2) years after completing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree.

Work Experience and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are required;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment is desirable;
  • The ability to manage assigned tasks with appropriate guidance and supervision is desirable;
  • Exposure to or an academic background in a quality management setting is an asset.

Languages

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English is essential.
  • Knowledge of other official CTBTO languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is desirable.
