Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate heavy workshop activities as directed by Transport Unit and in consultation with technical units holding heavy equipment. • Conduct and execute preventative maintenance plan for all UNISFA HEE, MHE & heavy vehicles to ensure minimal downtime. • Maintain workshop safety standards (UNISFA OH&S SOP), report delays or risks, and ensure compliance with environmental management for all workshop oils and lubricants. • Maintain daily work logs covering spare parts issued and fitted, and master equipment serviceability record. • Assist with spare parts delivery inspections, inventory control, and maintain coordination with central warehouse as directed by Transport Unit • Identify and resolve mechanical problems and report asset condition to Transport Unit as required. • Perform any other duties as directed by Chief Transport Unit
Qualifications/special skills
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational degree or certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Engineering Equipment, or related field is required Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy engineering equipment maintenance and repairs, preferably in remote or field environments is required Prior UN or international field experience is desirable
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in spoken and written English is required
